The cost of housing has skyrocketed in Arizona, so much so that many people, including pregnant women, are unable to locate, obtain and sustain housing. We have received more requests for housing assistance from pregnant women than we have ever received before. We are a local adoption agency that assists pregnant women in making an adoption plan if they have chosen to place their baby for adoption. In this blog, we will review resources for homeless pregnant women.
What do we do?
We help women make an adoption plan who are pregnant and homeless, pregnant and using drugs, pregnant and incarcerated, along with pregnant women who may be experiencing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy.
What do we want you to know?
We want you to know that there are resources available for pregnant women who are not choosing to make an adoption plan. As an adoption agency, we are only able to assist with housing for our clients who qualify: women who are pregnant and are working on their adoption plan with us.
In December of 2023, there were approximately 653,104 people experiencing homelessness in the United States. The State of Arizona has the fourth-highest overall homeless population.
Housing Resources without an Adoption Plan include:
The housing resources that are available to pregnant women who are not making an adoption plan include, but are not limited to:
- Calling 211
- Shelters
- Housing Programs designed specifically for families with children
- Government-Assisted Low-Income Housing
